Quick-Start Art Prompts

Simple, soulful prompts to help you reconnect with yourself — one breath and brushstroke at a time.

How to Use These Prompts:

  • No need to “finish” or make it pretty.

  • Use whatever materials you have nearby.

  • Set a timer for 5–10 minutes — or let yourself go longer if it feels good.

  • Play music, light a candle, or just take a breath before you begin.

Breathe & Scribble

Day 1 Prompt:
Take three deep breaths. Let your pen or pencil move freely across the page — no thinking, no planning.

Just flow.

When you’re done, look at the lines.
What do you see in them?
Can you trace or color in new shapes?

A guided prompt to release overthinking and drop into flow

Color Your Mood

A visual way to process emotions through color

Day 2 Prompt:

Pick three colors that match how you feel right now — without overthinking. Use them to fill a page with shapes, strokes, or symbols.

Label your mood if you’d like, or just let the colors speak.

Example:

"Today I chose teal, gold, and plum — calming, strong, and dreamy.

Draw Your Inner Critic
(Then Talk Back)

Day 3 Prompt:
Sketch a silly version of your inner critic — give it a hat, a cape, or an overdramatic expression.

Now, write a short note to it from your wiser, kind self.

Give that judgmental voice a face — then take your power back.
